Recent Acquisitions - June 05...

It's been a whirlwind month so far and there's no end of business in sight.

Several excellent acquisitions this month so far that I wanted to share. On to the listing...

"The Aviator": What many thought was last year's snubbed picture of the year makes it's way to my collection this month, along with a an exclusive bonus/companion disc that provides viewers with a biography of Howard Hughes and c0mplete coverage of the Aviator World Premeire. Gloria and I have plans to watch this soon and I will be sure to post a solid review of the movie after it's over.

STAR TREK: The Original Series - Season 1 & 3: Two spectacular sets of add-ons here. Over the last two weeks we've been preparing a variety of boxes and "stuff" for a subdivision-wide garage sale. Included in those boxes were my old-school consoles and their associated games from 1981 on. Intellivision, ATARI 5200 & 7800, NES, SEGA and all of their associated games. As you can imagine if you've ever spent time with games and systems, getting rid of them is often something that doesn't happen easily and this was no exception. Though it was tough to pack them all up and get them to a local exchange place - I did it. It yielded me $185 in store credit and so I purchased the two TOS series disc sets that have eluded me since their release almost 2 years ago now.

"24" Season 2: What is easily one of the most compelling television series of our age, "24" has been a wonderful ride every season so far (check out my blog for any of the fun and detailed "Blow by Blow" reviews for more great readings from this recent 4th season) . Season 2 of the series makes its way to my collection via a dandy wife-provided Father's Day gift.

Look for more as I have the opportnity to watch and review the above and look for new editions.
